How long will a trolling motor battery last?
Updated . Every answer lists the sources we read it from. If we couldn't back an answer, we left the question out.
| Motor | Max draw | Lithium, full speed | Lithium, half speed | AGM, half speed |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 30 lb, 12 V | 30 A | 3.3 h | 6.7 h | 3.3 h |
| 45 lb, 12 V | 42 A | 2.4 h | 4.8 h | 2.4 h |
| 55 lb, 12 V | 50 A | 2.0 h | 4.0 h | 2.0 h |
Half speed uses half the maximum draw, Newport's rule of thumb. Wind, current and a heavy boat raise the draw; slow trolling lowers it. Renogy advises not running its AGM below 50%.
